Micro Processor Based Counters

The PC-6 is a 6 digits microprocessor based versatile counter and speed indicator combined in one unit to cater variety of applications like counting,totaling, length measurement, machine speed indication etc. 

It can accept wide variety of sensors like relay contact, proximity switch, isolated transistor output. The counter can be either single point or double point. In single point operation, the relay gets energized when the second pre-set value is reached. In double point operation, the relay1 gets energized when first pre-set value is reached and the relay2 gets energized when second pre-set value is reached.

In auto-reset mode, the relays are deactivated after programmable delay. In manual mode, the relays can be deactivated either from front keyboard or by remote push-button switch. Besides normal counter there is also one batch counter and a totaliser. The relay3 is for batch, it gets energized when batch count reaches its set value. The totaliser can be reset from front keyboard or by remote reset switch.

There are three external control input, START, STOP, RESET are provided for remote control operation. There is a programmable prescalar provided between the actual count signal and the counter. By programming it as 1, it will be bypassed. 

This feature is used in scaling the length measurement application. This versatile counter has one speed indicator block, which can be used as RPM indicator or a machine speed indicator with either a/c or d/c tacho. Here also there is one prescalar block between tacho input and the speed indicator, which is used to scale the machine speed.
